1-Present Indefinite Tense

I, we, they, you + 1st Verb + Object

He, She, It + V1st+s/es + Object

وہ روزانہ کالج جاتی ہے۔

1. She goes to college daily.

وہ روزانہ کالج نہیں جاتی۔

2. She does not go to college daily.

کیا وہ روزانہ کالج جاتی ہے؟

3. Does she go to college daily?

کیا وہ روزانہ کالج نہیں جاتی؟

4. Does she not go to college daily?

2-Present Continuous Tense

Subject + is/are/am + V1st+ing + Object

He, she, it, and name is

وہ اب کالج جا رہی ہے۔

1. She is going to college now.

وہ اب کالج نہیں جا رہی۔

2. She is not going to college now.

کیا وہ اب کالج جا رہی ہے؟

3. Is she not going to college now?

کیا وہ اب کالج نہیں جا رہی؟

4. Is she not going to college now?

3-Present Perfect Tense

Subject + has/have + V3rd + Object

has with He, She, it and name

وہ آج کالج گئی ہے۔

1. She has gone to college today.

.وہ آج کالج نہیں گئی

2. She has not gone to college today.

کیا وہ آج کالج گئی ہے؟

3. Has she gone to college today?

کیا وہ آج کالج نہیں گئی؟

4. Has she not gone to college today?

4-Present Perfect Continuous Tense

Subject + has/have + been + V1st+ing + Object

1. She has been studying Geogrphay since morning. 

وہ صبح سے جیوگرافی کا مطالعہ کر رہی یے۔ 

2. She has not been studying Geography since morning.

3. Has she been studying Geography since morning?

4. Has she not been studying Geography since morning?

Adverbs: today, since, for, 

5-Past Indefinite Tense

Subject + Verb-2nd + Object

with all nouns and pronouns + 2nd form

1. He wrote many letters. 

2. he did not write many letters.

3. Did she write many letters? 

کیا اس نے کئی خط نہیں لکھے؟ 

4. Did she not write many letters?

5. She  ____ many letters yesterday. (write) 

    She wrote many letters yesterday.

    She did not write many letters yesterday?

Adverbs: yesterday, last, previous, ago, etc,

6-Past Continuous Tense

Subject + was/were + V1st+ing + Object

was is with I, he, she, and It

1. She was watching a movie when I called her. 

2. She was not watching a movie when I called her.

3. Was she watching a movie when I called her? 

جب میں نے اسے فون کیا وہ فلم نہیں دیکھ رھی تھی؟۔

4. Was she not watching a movie when I called her?

5. She  ____ when I saw her yesterday. (study) 

    She was studying when I saw her yesterday.

    She was not studying when I saw her yesterday? 

    Was she studying when I saw her yesterday?

Adverbs: yesterday, last, previous, ago, etc.

7-Past Perfect Tense

Subject + had + V3rd + Object

میرے دیکھنے سے پہلے وہ فلم دیکھ چکی تھی۔

1. She had watched the movie before I watched it. 

2. She had not watched the movie before I watched it.

3. Had she watched the movie before I watched it?

4. Had she not watched the movie before I watched it?

Further Examples:

5. The patient _____ when the doctor reached. (die)

    The patient had died when the doctor reached.

    The patient had not died when the doctor reached?

    Had the patient died when the doctor reached?

Adverbs: before, after, earlier, etc.

8-Past Perfect Continuous Tense

Subject + had +been+ V1s+ing  + Object

وہ صبح سے فلم دیکھ رہی تھی۔

1. She had been studying the paper for two hours. 

2. She had not been studying the paper for two hours.

3. Had she been studying the paper for two hours?

4. Had she not been studying the paper for two hours?

5. The patient _____ for many hours when the doctor arrived. (die)

    The patient had been crying for many hours when the doctor arrived.

    The patient had not been crying for many hours when the doctor arrived?

    Had the patient been crying for many hours when the doctor arrived?

Adverbs: tomorrow, next, coming year, since, for, etc.

9-Future Indefinite Tense

Subject + will/shall + V1st + Object

I,we + shall + Verb

You, He, She, It, They + will + Verb

وہ پتنگیں اڑائے گا۔

1. He will fly the kites. 

2. He will not fly the kites.

3. He will fly the kites?

4. Will he not fly the kites?

5. The doctor _____ tomorrow at 8 o'clock.  (arrive)

    The doctor will arrive tomorrow at 8 o'clock.

    Will the doctor not arrive tomorrow at 8 o'clock?

    Will the patient arrive tomorrow at 8 o'clock?

Adverbs: tomorrow, next, coming year, etc.

10-Future Continuous Tense

Subject + shall/will + be+ V1st+ing + Object

وہ پھر کالج جا رہی ہو گی۔

1. She will be going to college then.

2. She will not be going to college.

3. Will she be going to college?

4. Will she be not going to college?

Further Examples:

5. The principal _____ tomorrow when we reach.  (visit)

    The principal will be visiting tomorrow when we reach.

    Will the principal not be visiting tomorrow when we reach?

    Will the principal be visiting tomorrow when we reach?

Adverbs: tomorrow, next year, etc.

11- Future Perfect Tense

Subject + shall/will + have + V3rd + Object

میرے پڑھنے سے پہلے اس نے کتاب پڑھ لی ہوگی۔

1. She will have read the book before I read it.

2. She will have not read the book before I read it.

3. Will she have read the book before I read it?

4. Will she have not read the book before I read it?

5. They _______ the exam exam when we reach there.  (take)

    They will have taken the exam when we reach there. 

    They will have not taken the exam when we reach there?

    Will they will have taken the exam when we reach there?

12- Future Perfect Continuous Tense

Subject + shall/will + have + been + V3rd + Object

وہ مئی سے ایک ناول لکھ رہی ہوں گی۔

1. You will have been writing a novel since April. 

2. You will have not been writing a novel since April.

3. Will you have been writing a novel since April?

4. Will you have not been writing a novel since April?

    She will have been writing a novel for two years.

Translation into English - Tenses  

1. وہ روزانہ سیر کے لیے جاتی ہے۔ 

A) She is going for a walk daily. 
B) She goes for a walk daily. 
C) She has gone for a walk daily. 
D) She has been going for a walk since May.

ANSWER= (B) She goes for a walk daily. 
Explanation: Present Indefinite Tense. 

2. بچے گلی میں کرکٹ کھیل رہے ہیں۔.

A) Children play cricket in the street.
B) Children are playing cricket in the street.
C) Children have played cricket in the street.
D) Children have been playing cricket in the street since morning.

ANSWER= B) Children are playing cricket in the street.
Explanation: Present Continuous Tense

3. اس نے اس سال امتحان دیا ہے۔

A) He takes the exam every day.
B) He is taking the exam now.
C) He has taken the exam this year.
D) He has been taking the exam for two hours.

ANSWER= C) He has taken the exam this year.
Explanation: Present Perfect Tense

4. وہ دو گھنٹے سے سبق سیکھ رہا ہے۔

A) He learns the lesson daily.
B) He is learning the lesson now.
C) He has learnt the lesson.
D) He has been learning the lesson for two hours.

ANSWER= D) He has been learning the lesson for two hours.

A) They had paid his fee today.
B) They have paid their fee today.
C) They paid their fee yesterday.
D) They will pay their fee tomorrow.
