Six Basic Rules in English - Rule No 4

Rule No. 4 

Had & did are used in Simple Past tense. In the absence of 'did not', the Second form of the verb is used.
Examples:
  • He had many friends.
  • She did his homework.
  • She did not do his work yesterday.

Explanation:  A Plural verb 'Play' is used after 'did not ' in Simple Tense

Explanation:   "come" in Past Tense.

Explanation:   "gave" is used in the Past Tense.

ANSWER= (A) made 
Explanation:   'made' is used in the Past Tense.    

6. I did not like to ____ the party every day. 




ANSWER= (B)  join 
Explanation:   "Join" is used in the Past Tense after 'did not'.

ANSWER= (B) have 
Explanation:    Children had many toys to play.

8. They   ______ many letters to others yesterday. 




ANSWER= (A)   made 
Explanation:    They wrote many letters yesterday.

ANSWER= (A) liked 
Explanation:    You liked singing songs.

10. They _____ their friends often?



ANSWER= (A) deceived 
Explanation:     They deceived their friends often.

11. We could _____ there for more days?  



ANSWER= (B) stay   
Explanation:   We could stay there for more days?

12. The birds ____ in the trees last night



ANSWER= (B) sat    
Explanation:   The birds sat in the trees night.

ANSWER= (A) enjoyed    
Explanation:   They enjoyed themselves at the party.

Explanation:    They wasted their time a lot.

ANSWER= (A) enjoys    
Explanation:     The Second form of the verb is used in the Past Tense.

ANSWER= (C) played    
Explanation:    We played last Sunday.

ANSWER= (B) declared 
Explanation:   They declared their manager the best.   

18.  They liked ____ breakfast with us.   




ANSWER= (C) to have 
Explanation: Would you like to have breakfast with us.

Explanation: He stared at me at the party yesterday.
